The project idea is developed from the observation and study of the insertion context that determines its formal/volumetric conformation. The macro-scale investigation forced us to think about the issue of access and general viability and thus the overall view of the complex at the time of access to the project area and consequently to the question of the two phases the construction of the complex. The division by phases resulted in the identification of some critical issues at the architectural level summarized in the search for the formal identity of the entire volume and relationship between the two building bodies. The design proposal is directed toward achieving an accomplished main front from the first phase, so that the complex is readable in its entirety from the very beginning, as well as allowing the company to communicate a complete corporate image. One of the basic elements of the corporate identity on which Gibus is based is the opposition, but at the same time the indissoluble union, between light and shadow. The diversity and periodicity of the inclinations of the sun’s rays give every affected body movement and dynamism. It is precisely on this mutability of shadows that we wanted to build the conceptual basis on which the new complex was formally developed: a body rich in facets, emulating a system of curtains, changing during the course of the day and throughout the year. The building therefore appears dynamic and different depending on the moment of observation. The entire complex is intended to present itself externally as a continuum of sinuous lines of different rhythms, as opposed to an internal rigidity marked by the rationality and functional organization related to the production and operation of the Gibus world.
