The hearth is a place of community, the centre of human relationships and functions. This archetypal form of dwelling gives rise to Velum: a self-sufficient structure in which Antrax becomes the contemporary hearth.
Two inclined roof planes define a 22 sqm volume organized around a central core that concentrates the main functions. Compact yet dynamic, the space maintains a continuous relationship with the outdoors.
Velum integrates sustainable systems: the southern roof plane becomes a continuous photovoltaic surface, while the impluvium roof collects rainwater. Battery storage systems and water tanks are housed within the wall cavities, enabling autonomous resource management.
Thermal comfort is ensured by Antrax radiators and a natural ventilation system.
